Our Therapy Purpose

Our Purpose

Helping clients feel balanced, supported and equipped to manage life’s demands

Flannel Psychology exists to help adults and couples understand their emotions, strengthen resilience and build healthy relationships. The focus is not only on treating mental-health symptoms but also on helping clients reconnect with their sense of purpose and experience joy of living.

The practice name is inspired by the Flannel flower, native to New South Wales and recognised as a national symbol of mental-health awareness. Its gentle yet resilient nature reflects the core philosophy of the practice — strength and softness can exist together.

Therapeutic Philosophy

Therapeutic Philosophy

At Flannel Psychology, therapy is guided by the belief that genuine change begins with understanding. The process helps clients recognise how past experiences influence current patterns of thought and behaviour.

Each session is structured, confidential and outcome-focused. Deepika uses evidence-based approaches tailored to the needs of each individual or couple.

These include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns
  • Schema Therapy to identify and shift unhealthy emotional patterns that are shaped by past experiences
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to enhance emotional awareness and connection
  • Trauma-informed practice to ensure sensitivity and safety in all processes

The goal of therapy is to help clients understand themselves, build emotional regulation skills, and develop strategies to maintain mental well-being outside the therapy room.
